S2000 Wins Class, Places 5th Overall in Dubai 24 Hour

The First Toyo Tires Dubai 24 hours is won by Austrian Duller Motorsport in the Red Bull BMW M3 E46 GTR. After a cautious start from their pole position the team took the lead at the end of the first hour and lost it only in the fourth hour due to a mechanical problem. After the problem was fixed it didn’t took long before they regained the lead until the finish.

Among the other teams in the huge 67-car field who could get close to the eventual winners were German CM Creativ Marketing-drivers Martin Dechent, Jurgen Bender and Lars Nielsen. The Porsche-driver took advantage of the technical mishap of the winners during the fourth hour and took the lead for a few laps, but had to make way as the Duller-car rolled again.

German Maeder Motorsport won the up to two liter class in a Honda S2000. After the retirement of the Schubert Motors 2 ETCC-BMW 320i, they dominated the class and finished eventually in a fine fifth place overall despite a late challenge from the other Schubert 320i who finished second in the biggest A2-class.
