According to J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Customer Study, Honda is the leading manufacturer in the automotive industry by retaining the highest percentage of new-vehicle customers.
The study is based on the percentage of new buyers who replace their previous vehicle with a new car from the same brand.
Honda has almost increase by two percentage points since last year, and strongly retains a 64.7% of customers. Toyota and Lexus follows by 63.2% and 60.4% respectively.
Honda’s reputation for manufacturing safe cars combined with the strong re-sale value is definitely one of many reasons for keeping the number of customers on a high level.
A list of the car manufactures with the relevant percentage can be found below. However, the customer retention standing is expected in this forthcoming year to be greatly affected since the productivity of car manufacturers will be decreased by almost 12 million units globally.
