Honda has announced that it will be developing an electric motorcycle that will be on sale by 2010. Honda’s CEO Takeo Fukui expects that an electric motorcycle will be a success especially in regions such as Asia and South America where short distances are covered daily by conventional motorcycles. Besides, the characteristics of a battery are more applicable to motorcycles that cover short distances on a daily basis, as Mr Fukui claims.
With Honda, investingĀ to hybrid technologies it would be no surprise that an electric motorcycle will be produced sooner than expected. It may not be hybrid but is certainly a good move for the future.
