Honda S2000 successor could be hybrid with all wheel drive

Some things will never change, and rumors want an S2000 successor to come to life with hybrid technology and all wheel drive. In Japan there is a speculation that Honda could be working on a car that will replace the S2000. The car will be more powerful than the CR-Z and this puts a smile to our face, however the design is unknown but there is a car rendered that has a Honda badge on. Lets get happy once again.

Hybrid/all wheel drive sounds like no fun and no fun… I mean what is an S2000? An amazing piece of engineering that will put a smile on your face in a heartbeat! I test drove cars with twice the power of an S2000 and arent near as fun as the S is. I think a fun yet competitive car would be the way to go, dont want to make it easy for the Z and porsche crowd! This car has to be rear wheel drive in order to be an S roadster in my opinion…

I completely agree with Boris. The s2000 was a roadster manufactured to be sleek, powerful, handle well, and all together deliver an exhilerating driving experience. The reason people are so in awe over the s2000 is because of its lightweight body, amazing suspension , and a fuel efficient 4 cylinder motor that produces 120 hp PER LITER, if a Dodge Viper could do the same it would have 960 hp! So I feel fairly confident in saying that if Honda’s target is the s2000 crowd in releasing an awd hybrid… they will surely miss their mark

I thought not too long ago Honda CANCELLED the next S2000 and NSX because of the economy? And if anything, AWD might not bring the same driving/evolved driving feel of the current S. Well, rumors ARE rumors, but I can’t help but have my hopes up for the next S2000……

Is it just me, or does that car drawing look a lot like a Nissan Z car?

Which, in a way, in ironic as my first sports car was a Datsun 1600 roadster (always wanted the 2000) and Datsun became Nissan.

I finally got my 2000, but it was a Honda. Now that’s full circle.
