The trim of the console cover is known to be strong, however if you S2000 is your daily drive or if you have a really sharp elbow, you may damage the rear trim of the console cover. So what do you do next, get a complete console? The answer is no and here is what manuelisfun has done on his S2000. His console looks as good as new now.

I need to replace the metal trim around the shifter boot, your article speaks to removing the entire console, does it really come up that easy? Did you just use your fingers? Once that is up I am sure the metal trim piece can be replaced. thanks.

It’s really pretty straight forward. You need to pull it up from the back.
