For some it’s a scary thought to have their car taken for a joyride without their knowledge. My most memorable auto abduction would have to be about 3 years ago. I drove to Southern Florida to visit my family as well as my younger brother who was 18 and a high school senior. I had taught him how to drive stick a few years before and he liked to sharpen his skills on my S2000. I was in the car 100% of the time and was surprised at how well he drove it.

In any event, whenever I visited I liked to sleep in so one morning my brother took the liberty of driving to school in my car. I awakened to find my car gone but I got over it quickly because he had a very nicely set up Ridgeline. I had driven it before so I was looking forward to the lazy boy seats and being high up for the day. He and the S returned safely that afternoon, and life went on.
Two years later, a bunch of his friends had come over for the holiday to my family’s house. It turns out about half a dozen of his friends had a go in my car. After school that fateful day, these JDM boys wanted the S2000 experience in a grocery store parking lot. What a %$*%*$*! I tried to match him stranger for stranger in regards to who drove his truck without him knowing. He still beat me. Oh well, the car still runs fine. Has anybody ever taken your S2000 without your permission or you knowing?

Not gonna lie… If people touch my S2000 without me knowing, somebody is gonna get the full wrath of me! Trust me, its not pretty haha.

^ I agree with Fluky. I’m told by my friends I treat my car a lot better than I would a son/daughter if I had one hehe… Not sure if that was a compliment or not.

No one has done that to me but I have done it to my older brother. I was 16 at the time and legal age in Jersey is 17 ;x. He was pissed when he found out (I told him) lol. But the following June I took it to my senior prom, and drove it here and there after that. Now I’m 21 and it’s mine…MWAHAHAHA! He still drives it when he wants to feel young again (he’s 38) ;x. But I think he’s satisfied with his ’08 E90…after he got that the S was just sitting in his driveway…took it off his hands for FREE! This is a “hand-me-down” that I am not complaining about. I love my brother<3 ;x.

I went to mexico for a week, and my friend was staying with me…I told him he could drive it but to be careful.Well something told me to write the mileage down, so i did….A week later there is 236 miles extra on my car. Now, before i asked about it, he was like “o man ive got your car dialed in, i know how to drive this thing now!”.
OOOOOOO really…nice to know there was 236 miles of “hard driving” on my new s2000……Keys came with me after that

My keys stay with me at all times. I rarely let other people drive the car even with me in it–no way I’d give someone the opportunity to take it without my knowledge.

As long as I know the person who is driving it knows how to properly operate a manual I let them take the car out. All of my friends and my wife have had nothing but manual cars for the past 14 years we’ve been driving so I never worry.

Wow, good thing my family hates my car…I don’t have to worry about them driving off in it. And some of my friends already have s2000′s and the ones that don’t are too afraid to drive my car because they think it’s a rocket ship or something. I did let a bmw owner and his buddy an(audi S4) owner drive my S a couple of weeks ago and they both had ear to ear grins on their faces.

Only my bestest of trusted friends get to chance to drive mine.

My wife took my car to school the other day. I drove it the next day and was like WTH did someone go mud bogging in my car! The window was nasty since she drives in the country. She laughed hard and I said you took my car!
I drive my car on the weekends and wash it every weekend since I do not have a garage. So when someone takes it, I know!
Others do not drive my car unless they own a S and I know them very well. I have determined if I upgrade enough parts then the wife will not want to drive it

I let people drive my car so long as i know about it. I love my S to death but honestly, if i got insurance, im good. But without my knowledge, that is a complete @$$ whoopin unless there was some good reason to take my S.

I let the Woman drive the car, but only with me in it and I’m fairly at ease with her driving it as she’s never owned an Automatic vehicle(Drives an ’06 RSX-S now) and aspires to one day have her own S2000. Other than that I’m the only one who has ever driven my car since I’ve owned it, When it was in the shop for two months I memorized the mileage when it went in and it didn’t go up a single mile so I was very pleased. Come to think of it, I’d never let my car get into a situation where it would end up with someone else driving it.

My girlfriend tried to drive my S2K once…I’d left the keys at the house (went out of town) in case our other cars had issues (which they did). My first morning gone, the Accord wouldn’t start (master relay was on it’s way out), so she decided to take the little yellow pill. Trouble is, she’s not a very strong manual driver and the thought of messing up the car spooked her enough that she just took it around the block and got out to try the Accord again…worked fine, so she left my car alone.
