Our member cod-head of the UK S2000 owners community recently started a thread describing his close call. It appears that he parked in a spot adjacent to his usual parking spot only to discover later (or the next day) that a tree landed in his usual spot. As you can see from the image below, his S2000 barely escaped getting totaled by Mother Nature.
Call it a stroke of luck or just plain coincidence, we are happy that the cod-head and his S2000 are still together. A post in the thread speculates that perhaps he just backed into the spot behind the fallen tree, but from the tone of relief expressed by him, it appears that his stroke of luck was genuine.
It could happen on a track or on a street where you always drive the speed limit. Close calls, by their nature, are hard to predict and always seem to pack a surprise element. Sometimes though, driver error may also lead to close calls.
What do you think? Have you had any close calls with your S2000? We hope both you and your car survived the ordeal.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Don’t park under or near trees. Tree sap and leaves are not the only thing that can fall.

I had only owned by 2004 (Sliverstone) for about a year. I came around some traffic, moving pretty good, and right into the back of a large truck braking! Thank god for the excellent brakes in the S2000 so I could stop before guillotining me head off! Any other car, I think I’d be reading this post from the “other side”. Thank you Honda engineers!

Came flying around a turn smashing 2nd gear and a deer ran out in front of me! thank Honda! for the brakes on this car because I was able to slam on them and just barley graze the deers hind legs… really! there was a little hair sticking up between my fresh AP2 headlights and my bumper.
