A lot of people have been displaced by this storm, and it sounds like we’re going to get another round of heavy storms tonight. Joplin is pulling together with the help of surrounding towns and communities. I know I have gotten out of this current round reletively unscathed and I know that many others have not.
Joplin thanks you, S2KI, as well as all of the volenteer workers that have been going non-stop.

Money is tight right now but if you are in the same boat you can still help.
Several weeks ago I gave blood at a Red Cross event. (I may not have extra money but I can spare some blood every few months…and I’m Type O Neg…they love Type O neg.) I got a call a few days later informing me that my blood was sent to Tuscaloosa, AL to help with the shortage there that resulted from those tornados.
So if you can’t spare cash, give blood! I’m sure they need all they can get in Joplin and other places hit by the recent rash of tornados.

The death toll has risen to 125 now and reports say that over 900 more were injured. Not only that, but the tornado did major damage to a hospital which probably depleted much of their blood supply, so yes blood donations are needed too, I’m sure. Thanks for bringing that up, tof.
