5 Coolest Body Kits for the S2000
The Honda S2000 was an instant classic the moment it was released, and as a result, the aftermarket produced some pretty fantastic parts to enhance this potent little roadster. Although the car was visually appealing in stock form, many prefer wide fenders, gaping grille openings, and side skirts to give the S2000 a bit more "Show" to match its performance "Go."
1. Voltex Race Version
The Voltex Race Version body kit gives the S2000 an aggressive look without going overboard. Instead of relying on huge flared fenders like many kits, the Voltex kit retains the classic hood, fender, and roofline of the car while adding functional aero bits. The front bumper incorporates a larger radiator grille, brake cooling ducts, dive planes, and a fairly lengthy front splitter. The side skirts give the car a lowered look and nicely blend into the rear bumper which has a larger exhaust cutout and exotic rear diffuser. Overall, this is a nice kit that can be fitted by a shade tree mechanic with great results.

2. Spoon S-Tai
Aerodynamic body upgrades can significantly improve cornering capabilities, and it is for this reason that the official Spoon race team has used the S-Tai (Super-Taikyu) aero kits. This particular "Version II Street" kit probably looks the most OEM out of all the body kit offerings, but it clearly improves upon the factory aero deficiencies. The front bumper cover is a bit longer than the stock pieces and has some slick indentations that make for a couple of mini-splitters at the front of the car. The shape of the side skirts coincides with the front bumper to allow air to effortlessly flow down the side of the car before cleanly exiting passed the rear wheels and cut the rear bumper. With the rear diffuser in place, this kit creates low pressure under the car to help suck the car to the ground.

3. Amuse Widebody
The Amuse Widebody kit provides arguably the best-looking front-end for the S2000 with its integrated dive planes, splitter, and gaping radiator opening. The front bumper cover is 65mm wider than stock and requires newly widened fenders to blend together seamlessly. One can spend hours studying aerodynamics at work with this kit as multiple channels direct air passed the front wheels, along with the side skirts, through the fender ducting, and out the backside of the fenders. The Amuse kit also features a radical rear diffuser/bumper setup that sees the high-mount exhaust tips exit just below the taillights.

4. APR Widebody
Most would agree that the APR Widebody kit gives the S2000 a tasteful, yet exotic edge not found on many other body kits. The obvious attraction of the APR kit is the voluptuous hips it creates over the wheel arches that look to naturally be one with the car instead of a second thought add-on. The side skirts further blend the two fender lines together while also improving the stance of the car. The front bumper cover is an extended unit that effectively lengthens the car and provides improved downforce with its splitter that delivers significant underbite. The rear bumper remains fairly standard S2000 kit, albeit a bit wider to match the new flared fenders.

5. J's Racing Type GT
If you are looking for panache, J's Racing Type GT widebody kit in carbon fiber will likely do the trick. Originally available for the Japanese market only, the Type GT kit was developed to produce the fastest on-track S2000 by carefully using aerodynamics to its advantage. Massive amounts of wind tunnel time had gone into this kit to direct/force air where it is needed. Evidence can be seen by the various fins, panels, shields, and deflectors. The kit comes as a 17-piece puzzle (not including the multiple fins/deflectors) and utilizes a long-nose bumper, ultra-wide GT wing, and various underbelly aero panels. Although this kit may be a bit too flashy for some, you have to respect the engineering and attention to detail that have been put into this body kit. That said, this thing is not cheap at roughly $8,000 prior to installation, finishing, and paint costs!
