It's become so popular that some models have sold for exorbitant amounts on eBay in the past 90 days.

1. 2002 Honda S2000 (LS1 Swap) - $34,000.00

For the extremely seasoned enthusiast, this is one crazy ride! A small convertible with a huge LS1 motor crammed under the hood is nothing short of insane. For the not so seasoned folks, this is a popular Chevy Corvette motor stuffed into a light and small Japanese convertible. However, this is a real "custom" ride and many "custom" rides come with a "salvage" title. When we look at KBB for this model S2000, year and "mileage", it yields a mere $15,750. However, this example sold for double and then some! Crazy! If this was to be sold with a salvage title and mileage without the LS1, it would yield significantly less. Check it out here

2. 2008 Honda S2000 CR - $34,995.00

While this is a two-owner vehicle, the low miles at just over 33,000 are impressive. It also features one of the more rare paint options Honda offered called Apex Blue Pearl (B-554P). The price tag, however, is quite high. A quick KBB search with near exact specs to this offering yield an average of $25,000 if sold privately and slightly more if traded in at the dealer. Here is the car for the slide.

3. 2008 Honda S2000 CR - $26,000.00

This was a surprising bid to see a completed. The "CR" stands for Club Racer. This was a rare series of the Honda S2000 line created between 2008-2009 and only about 699 units were sold. This particular one has an aftermarket exhaust, a K&N filter and "half" good tires. The seller explains other defects such as "dings, rock chips and paint cracking on the front and rear bumpers". He/she mentions the interior has some tearing and the trunk is dirty. On top of all of that. the seller is the 5th owner. Talk about used! Still, they managed to have some sad sap fork over nearly $6k more than a completely stock model in similar configuration yields, when sold privately as per KBB.

4. 2000 Honda S2000 - $25,999.00

This auction was an incredible sale. The new owner must have really wanted this car. I mean, heck, an unmolested, clean example with miles as low as 7,500 is definitely a nice buy. KBB values the car at nearly $8,500 less than what it sold for! KBB range on this one is $17,500.

5. 2007 Honda S2000 - $25,000.00

This is another great bid that turned out in the seller's favor. KBB values a similar S2000 (miles, color, age) for roughly $18.5K. The seller basically made away with nearly $6.5K! This is kind of crazy as the mileage is not very low at nearly 55,000. But, on the other side, the buyer definitely got a bargain. The seller had actually purchased an extended warranty from Honda that is good until 04-23-2018 or 95,173 miles. This coverage, in a way, adds immediate value to an already desirable car. If anything, the seller recouped some of those funds with the inflated price tag. The wheels that are on the car, if original and true, are also very desirable wheels. BBS is one of the major wheel manufacturers and the particular LM wheel model is very popular. In the end, while this might be an expensive sale, both parties probably made out very well.

6. 2003 Honda S2000 - $23,746.00

Probably the biggest selling point of this vehicle is the extremely low miles at just a little over 11,000. Even more impressive is that it's a 1 owner car that appears to be meticulously maintained and kept in true stock form. Often, these are picked up by enthusiasts who go far and wide with modifications severely affecting resale value, safety, etc. To avoid rock chips, the owner installed a custom removable leather bra. Even if this vehicle is in true showroom condition, it is a tad bit expensive. But, it's not too much for the right buyer to haggle accordingly. KBB search shows the near exact model with similar mileage capping at $20,000 for trade-in and slightly less for a private party. Fortunate for the seller, he was able to sell it for his asking price. Here is that S2000

7. 2006 Honda S2000 - $23,000.00

The seller of this vehicle certainly made out like a bandit! With the high mileage over 100,000 and the "new" motor, one could debate whether the buyer got a bargain or not. Someone definitely came out ahead and we'd say it was the seller. KBB values a similar S2000 with the same mileage and color at no more than $10,825 when sold to a private party. That's over $12k profit! However, if you read into the details of the ad, the seller went to great lengths to fully refresh the motor to the "T". He does try to point out each itemized cost and claims having all receipts. Without getting too busy with details, this example is a highly modified and extremely customized version of your normal S2000. If anything, the seller likely recouped all costs of refreshing the motor and customizing the body and such.

8. 2000 Honda S2000 - $13,500

Compared to some of the other examples we've shown, this price may not seem so shocking. Yet, it definitely is. KBB values a Brown 2000 with high mileage well over 125,000 in stock form for just a hair over $7800 when sold to a private party. What's more is that this version is also extremely modified and nowhere near stock form. It's possible that the seller likely recouped those costs and maybe even gained a little in profits when all was said and done. There are definitely some "desirable" parts on the car that could appeal to seasoned enthusiasts such as the blacked out hardtop with carbon fiber wing.
