Toms S2K
Thought it'd be rude not to!
Bought the S back in June 2012 from a Gent in Manchester.
Spec at the time I bought her;
-51 plate late 2001
-101k miles
-Full Honda service history plus his own servicing.
-3 previous owners
-Eibach Pro-kit 30mm
-HEL braided brake hoses and clutch hose
-EBC Yellow stuffs and Brembo discs all round
-JBL 6.5" components with CD player
-New roof fitted in November 2011ish along with geometry sorted at a lotus specialist around the same time.
The night I bought her
SO
Next day set about giving her one hell of a detail, involving clay and DAing with Sonus came out like so
After that, new rocker cover gasket as it was weeping, also the Cam cover was rocking the usual flaking paint...
So it was chemically stripped bare, then sprayed with VHT Wrinkle read
Then it reacted
SO back to square one again
Again!
Much better
Didn't wrinkle quite as much as I'd hoped for but it was better than before + no oil leak
After that came some goodies, first from our S2KTuning on here
AEM V2, sounds god like Have got a few videos will upload them on here in a bit
Then a week later, A nice Invidia N1 catback came up for sale for a bargain
3 legged cat wasn't included
Again sounds fantastic! bit droney though
Bought a 2.75" Invidia test pipe to go with it aswell, nice gain, feels better low down, not to mention the noise it makes now! hard not to put your foot down haha!
After that, the dreaded seat bolster was rebuilt
Bit of sponge, cardboard and tape to secure it
Much better
Mini service in the middle, Uber cheap Titan Super Syn and Genuine OE filter
Then as there was a stint of nice weather, made a start on undersealing her Got the front wheel arches done and back passenger arch done, all pressure washed and degreased beforehand and removed arch guards too, so a thorough job
Crash bar was a HIDEOUS state, so Linishing disc out for the grinder back to bare metal and now looks the same
As is goes at the moment, haven't done the Drivers side rear wheel arch, as it's suffering with a mild case of rust bubbling, so it's going to be cut out, smoothed and resprayed, and blended in.
Took her to TDI North to be RR'd, came out with a healthyish result
Figure taken with a pinch of salt obviously.
That's it so far Not massive spending on this one, just keeping her fit healthy and tidy, hopefully some nice floor mats, new interior carpet and some facelift doorcards, oh and wheel refurb too
All in all it's been a superb motor, thoroughly enjoyed every moment of driving it, had one or two scary moments in her but haven't we all!
Hope you all approve

I wish I had a garage like yours ! Perfect size for toys of course now I'm going to have to get the rear bumper off mine now and de-rust for peace of mind (and I'll have to do it on the drive)

The Undersealing on the rear helped a fair bit though, I did lash a fair bit of it on

Good stuff Tom, along with your top photographic skills
Will you be looking at getting an ECU gizmo gadget soon, Greddy, AEM etc to get the most from your mods?
I almost had that Mugen exhaust that was 'nearly' for sale and it made me realise that when you get to a certain stage of breathing mods you need to also think about fueling, are you at that stage yet or will that be after you get a header?

I do not really want to be negative, but from my experience you need to take the 2 plastic protectors off at the lower end of the front of the real wheel arch and check under there for rust , And then down underneath at this point , especially along the seam between the floor pan and cill.
God that crash beam is rusty , looks worse than mine was
Also check the fuel tank, especially along the seam and the tags that hold it in around the bolts. Lovegrova recently hd to have new tank as a result of rust
Also be very careful checking brake pipes, i thought mine were ok, and in sept even had a real close look with the MOT inspector and still thought they
were fine, until i stripped the back end of the car and found excessive corrosion on
the pipes which i have had to replace.
