Default New NYS inspection/emissions requirements.

I've read from a few guys that work at shops say that under the new regulations, all 03+ cars running tunes that shut off emission components are now going to automatically fail. I just spent a lot of cash and time installing Kpro and have a CTSC that I've been waiting to put on. I'm just hoping I'm(and anyone else in this situation) not totally F'd now. Anyone here know more about this?

Seemed to remember a similar discussion a while back
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/101...nverter-rules/

That however does not appear to be related to the topic on hand. Would you have a link to the new regs? Also, do you know when they are effective? Likely will affect a few people on here, although I'm sure people will find a solution.

I've heard of a handful of shops that have already installed the new machines, software and camera which now takes a pic of every car that gets plugged in. I don't have a link...I'm just going off from what I've heard shop employees.

A buddy of mine works at a shop and he does all of the inspections. I will see him tomorrow and ask what all the new laws are and get back to you guys.

A good friend that works at a local shop just told me we're A-ok. Just like before...as long as there's no CEL...we'll pass. His shop has the new machine with the new regulations and his car(not a Honda) passed it. Another good friend with an S2k on Kpro is getting his tested this weekend...so we'll soon definitely know for sure that Krpo users are good.

Ehh...well I was just told that not all the new machines are running the new Nazi software, and that after the new year it might not work. Looks like someone else is going to have to try in a month.
