Default Dead spot/hesitation at 2500rpms, otherwise accelerates fine

I can take the car to redline and it's perfectly smooth, but for some reason around 2500rpms, usually in 2nd gear at maybe 50% throttle, the car hesitates briefly. I can't always reproduce it, so it's tough to show anyone. It's enough to annoy me, but not drastic enough to force me to do something about it. In fact, most people wouldn't even notice it. Could it be a bad plug or a faulty coil pack? I don't mind replacing the plugs, but I imagine replacing all the coil packs would be expensive. Thoughts?

Edit, I have no check engine lights and my car is a 2007 with only 45k miles. It's been consistent like this for the 18 months I've owned the car.

You may want to read up on the CDV or Clutch Delay Valve. It'll explain your "problem"

I'm 100% confident it's not the clutch delay valve, but thank you for the suggestion. The problem goes like this: accelerate half throttle and everything is fine, then car hesitates around 2500rpm, then car accelerates fine the rest of the way. After some extensive searching last night I found a thread detailing my exact issue where most of the drive by wire owners felt there is a software bug and that the only way to remove it is to get a flashpro or other tune.

Plus, clutch delay valve would likely cause this in 1st and 3rd too...
Do you all also remove that checkvalve in the slave cylinder?

One of the few times I have seen that is with a faulty TPS but it was with a code and check engine light.

This obviously has nothing to do with the CDV.

My first plan of action would be to run data on the APP sensor (accelerator pedal position) for the DBW system.

How does one do that?

With any scanner that can read (and hopefully record) the live data from the APP sensor. You will look for a drop in the reading, as the computer does not know the difference between a flat spot and you fluctuating your foot.

That sounds like an expensive scanner

Good news, you don't need to buy one. You need to find someone who has one and then rent it or borrow it or pay them for their time to scan your data.

Or, and this is aggressive, buy a new APP sensor and install it and HOPE that's the problem.

Or, deal with your dead spot. Good Luck.
