Clutch adjustment tips
Hi guys,
Tried adjusting my clutch but ended up injuring myself going into the footwell on my back, so going to make a day of it and get the seats out and give them a refresh at the same time.
Anyway, regarding the clutch adjustment I have read a dozen posts on the US part of this forum explaining it, but I don't think I get it. Maybe I'm being thick, or I just haven't played with the clutch to know what they're on about, but in particular this post for example:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/275...ge-this-early/
The 'freeplay' refers to how loose the clutch pedal is, before the clutch engages right?
Also, step 2 says to turn the rod, and then step 3 says to hold the clutch and then turn it again? Surely the two will do the same thing? Or am I missing something?
Also this diagram:
I've heard you can cause slippage by not doing it properly so don't want to mess up!
Thanks.

1. Loosen the 12mm nut, one with the red arrow
2. Adjust the clutch height (Blue arrow):
Turn the rod until you get the right clutch height you want.
3. Adjust clutch free play:
HOLD the clutch (don't let it move up and down) and slowly move the rod left and right to adjust clutch free play. This should be about an 1"
4. DO NOT move the rod. and slowly tighten the nut back on.
5. Test drive, and readjust if you need to

No free play=clutch slip or may warp it if not enuff clearance <expansion of fluid and parts>

After posting on here over a year ago done some checking and adjusting of pedal levels ,
much better into 1st/2nd gear with clutch rod tweaked from sloppy play
