Default FS: SOS supercharged AP1

As I have now been fully bitten by the Porsche 911 bug, something has to give – so my S2000 is for sale. I would like to explore selling it whole in its current state. If that doesn’t work out, then I will part it out.

Highlights – Silverstone 2001 AP1 with SOS Stage 1 supercharger kit and lots of other tasteful ‘go fast’ mods. I built the car for my own satisfaction and with a minimalist ‘OEM plus plus’ theme. The aim was to keep the factory ‘feel’ of the S2000, just with more of everything. 159,xxx km.

Here is a more complete mod list:
• SOS stage 1 supercharger kit, oil fed, gloss black finish, documented 9000km mileage;
• KW Variant 3 coilovers, documented 4000 km mileage, with low mileage (~30,000 km) OE top hats;
• all suspension bushings replaced with either Powerflex poly bushings or upgraded Mugen bushings;
• Stoptech 328mm big brake kit;
• AP2 retainers and keepers;
• upgraded piston oil squirters;
• Enkei RPF1s, staggered 17x8 +45 and 17x9 +45, with Bridgestone RE11s rear and RE01Rs front;
• AP2 head lights and tail lights, with AP2 ballasts, all bolted together nicely;
• LHT Performance brake master cylinder brace;
• Di Grappa front cross brace (old school!);
• SOS sport clutch, with documented 6000 km mileage;
• AP2 transmission;
• 4.44 gears in PuddyMod assembled diff (ie, not ‘built’, but I did buy it from him direct as the one I had previously made too much noise);
• Modifry ‘Yellow Jacket’ speedo fix, GPS verified;
• J’s Racing header;
• straight pipe with built in O2 sensor defouler;
• Tanabe exhaust;
• SOS big bore throttle body;
• OE glass soft top from a MY2008 AP2;
• AP2 centre console with trim wrapped in carbon look vinyl;
• radio door wrapped in carbon look vinyl;
• AP2 steering wheel and airbag;
• Alpine deck with Bluetooth and iPod, sat radio ready, with Modifry dash control interface;
• aftermarket speakers in doors;
• PLX Devices 60mm multi gauge (with boost, oil pressure and wideband AFR);
• Prosport boost gauge;
• SOS dual gauge pod;
• hardwired for Valentine 1 with mount to rear view mirror;
• Spoon transmission mount;
• Samco rad hoses (upper is cut to accommodate the SOS supercharger kit);
• Mugen fan switch;
• Mugen thermostat;
• SOS hood dampers;
• Spoon reservoir socks;
• JS2K wind deflector;
• OE cargo net in trunk;
• shaved front ‘H’ and side ‘S2000’ badges;
• OE red ‘H’ rear badge;
• front bumper, hood and fenders covered in 3M.

Other recent maintenance recent items include new OE engine mounts, clutch pilot and release bearings, resurfaced OE flywheel; clutch master cylinder; Motul engine oil.

I have owned this car since October 2006 and have done all maintenance and mods myself, with the exception of alignments. The car was built for driving pleasure and performance, with much less attention paid to aesthetics.

It has been my baby and only summer driven. In the winter, it has been stored either indoors (when I lived in a condo) or on my concrete patio, under a cover and sitting on jackstands (the past several years since we moved into a house). It has been an absolute joy to drive, but I am getting older and really want a 911.

The issues: there is a chip in the front bumper, and it is also starting to ‘spiderweb’ around the passenger side headlight. There is a door ding on the left front fender, and another ding low on the left door (my snowblower caught the car cover lock once…ugh). There are a few other chips and dings in the paint, as it is original. Also, the front fenders were rolled and flared, poorly by myself. They aren’t perfect by far, but it is functional. The rear fenders have also been rolled and the rear bumper tab trimmed – this is the usual stuff done to make the RPF1s in that size fit. No rubbing any more! Also, the rear defrost is not hooked up, never got around to getting the parts for that. I always tried to drive top down anyway.

Asking C$19,500, open to negotiation but not to trades. Car is located in Edmonton, Alberta. Send me a PM for discussion.

How do you like the 911? I did the same thing and built a 650whp 911. Then sold it and came back to an s2000

Wow, late reply for me, I haven't been on S2ki forever.

I love my 997. Lovely car. I thought I owned nice cars before, but then I got my 997. I don't think I'd go back to an S2k. I like my tin-top roof now.

Couple negatives about 911 ownership - Porsche tax, ie. seems like every part costs more, whether it's OE or aftermarket. I don't mean just in comparison to Honda or S2k parts. I also have a Benz and a Land Rover, and until recently, an Audi too. Porsche prices make everything else seem cheap. I shudder at the cost of Ferrari ownership.

The other negative is the unwanted attention. Seems like every redneck in a truck wants to race, or go out of his way to drive around me like an a$$hole. No different than S2k ownership though.
