Pulley Bearings
Ok, so Ive been living with it for a few months now... A chirping noise as I plant my foot at around 2500-4000rpm.
Replaced the Serp belt (aux) and its still happening... Wobbled the pulleys and they seem to have quite a bit of play so its obviously the bearings.
Now I'm not one to scrimp and save, but my dad has just repaired his friends washer/dryer as it was making a grinding noise. He contacted Hotpoint who wanted £55 for the center bearing and housing.... he got the part number of the bearing, went on ebay... £3.50 and now its as good as new.
So does anyone know the size or have a part number of the bearings that are used in the tensioner and idler pulleys? Or has someone done a DIY bearing change themselves?
I have a hydraulic press etc for getting the bearings out so its not a problem on that side of things.
Thanks in advance,
Liam.

I like your thinking, might be worth asking on the main forum.
I dont know what the bearings are but when you start looking try http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/ good for any type of bearing you can think of.
If you find out what they are off the forum can you keep this updated as i need to do the same.

I'm not sure where I got the info from but I have a bearing spec in my "useful car notes" of:
"6203 double sealed, high speed"
Might give you something to search on at least

Not sure if its the same bearing or different ones.
I will take a look and see if I can find it out
If worst comes to worst, Ill take the pulleys off and take them into a bearing shop

I found this
http://www.bearingboys.co.uk/6203-2R...earing-11494-p
17x40x12 is the measurement on there.
Anyone got one to hand that they can measure?
