Default Need access to 4pt/alignment lift, or wheel cribs

Hello, I need access to a 4 point or alignment style lift (where the wheels sit on the lift, not a 2 point where the jack points are utilized). Tall wheel cribs would also suffice.

My S is making a strange pop from underneath that I can reproduce while rocking/rolling the car back and forth gently, but I cannot safely get underneath it to pinpoint the source of the noise with the equipment at hand. I cannot reproduce it while on jack stands (all I have to get underneath the car), and I cannot visually find the problem. Really need to hear the noise while under there.

Can anyone help? Only needs to be up there for a few minutes I suspect. Not looking to fix it, just a couple minutes to diagnose and pinpoint the source. I would take it to a shop, but they wouldn't let me in the shop area to diagnose myself I suspect, and I much prefer to do the work on my car personally.

I'm Located in central CT. Thanks a million.

Can you tell of its front or rear? Are the end links tight? Subframe bolts tight? What year car?

MY2000. During my attempts to correct, I've re-torqued every bolt I can imagine including front subframe, motor/tranny mounts, all suspension (control arms, end links, sway bar, struts, et al), brake/hub/ball joints. I've quadruple checked the upper A-arm mounts for separation. Finally I was able to consistently reproduce the noise by rocking the car gently back and forth in neutral. See video. The source of the noise is somewhere near the back end of the header aka the area of the tranny cover/secondary shaft cover, but I can't see any issues from underneath, and I can't reproduce it while jacked up.

Yes, axle nuts were properly torqued when I swapped cv cups.

If you jack the back up how much play is in the axle and drive shaft?

I haven't checked the drive shaft too much, so I'm not sure. I thought the noise was front suspension/steering related and was focusing efforts there. Only recently did I discover I could reproduce it, and that it was coming from further back in the car near the tranny. Next day it's not raining I will jack it up and see.

To me it sounds like it may be the cv bearing that fell out or is worn or pitted and causing ex sessile play

Do you mean the joint on the end of the driveshaft? or perhaps the flange on the rear of the tranny that the driveshaft bolts to? Or are you referring to a cv on one of the rear axles. 99% confident it's coming from the area of the driveshaft/tranny connection, so perhaps I have an issue similar to this https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/711...nd-driveshaft/

I'm talking about all of that. It looked to me like you had the e brake on and were pushing it back and forth.
