RE: Need replacement "Window Regulator/Motor" for drivers side
Hello,
Any help or recomendations would be greatly appreciated - I am in my second season driving my wonderful 2004 S2000, still learning and getting to know the ins and out of my car, day-by-day.
I was in the Byward market on Saturday night, nice evening, top down enjoying the nice weather, went to park the car, as soon as the driver's side window went up to close, it immediately started to go down, and won't close properly any more. I can hear the motor working and trying to do its job as I attempt to close the window - I am assuming that the cable has broken or snapped, and after doing some research on the forums, it seems that I need a new Window Regulator/Motor assembly.
This is the part number and description I got from a Honda Automotive parts distributer in the USA: "Window Regulator/Motor" (driver's side)
72250-S2A-A03 011 001 REGULATOR ASSY., L. DOOR.
So far I have gotten a quote from DOW Honda in Ottawa and they quoted a price of $758.31 for a new replacement part ( "Window Regulator/Motor") an $172.50 for shop labor to replace it.
Can anyone recommend another source/distributer where I might be able to get this particular part, for possibly a better price than the one quoted from DOW Honda?
Any help or advice from the s2ki community would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and have a good day,
Bill

I would just buy the part from the US and get it changed at a local mechanic. The dealers here charge am arm and a leg. If you want, I can provide you the name of my mechanic who is the master mechanic at Japan auto and does cash jobs.

Thank you for your quick response, and if you can please recommend a parts distributer in the US, one that you have successfully dealt with in the past, that would also be greatly appreciated. If not I will start my search today online.
I do have a local mechanic that I have been dealing with for the last 12 years or so, and they have taken good care of me and my 2004 S2000 so far, but it would also be wise/good idea, to have an alternate source available to me if necessary to do repairs on my S2000. And since you have dealt with this individual in the past and recommend him, his contact information would be much appreciated.
Thank you - Bill
