Default MG on Track - Season 6

So a new season starts even as the last season is still unfinished.

I received word today from Hap at the Acme Speed Shop in Greenville, South Carolina that the line boring for the orphan engine should be finished today. HURRAY!

Next step is for him to get the engine bored out to 1662 from 1598, which should be a piece of cake. I hope I'm man enough to drive that thing!

Then, what with all that and my installation of the transmission when I had that break in the weather, my endorphins are raging.

So I signed up for the VDCA VIR Wild Hare event April 10 through 12. Even if the new engine isn't delivered and installed in time, I'm pretty sure I can get the old engine refreshed and back into the car in time for the event.

I'm probably going to sign up for an early SCDA Lime Rock event to test the car.

Subscribed. Looking forward to the seasons exploits.

A word of caution Are you sure you want to shakedown that car with SCDA? I only ask because they are attracting the high HP crowd a lot and it's no fun at small tracks like Lime Rock. Traffic is guaranteed. Perhaps you can ask Ian and see if he will let you run with the Novice group. But Int 1 & upwards i urge you to be wary.

Well, if that's the case, I'll work the pits and let you do the driving. In order that you may keep both hands on the wheel, I'll attach a mannequin arm to the roll bar for a permanent "point by".

Come to LRP 3/28, I will be there and so will JO, we will be shaking out the winter bugs. I just hope my new engine is installed and tuned in time for it.

I feel like I'm working night and day in order to make the car ready. I really only have about three weeks available to complete the job. Not sure I can make it happen.
