Default Oil Filter

About to put the car on for the summer and called Honda Aberdeen to order oil filter. Had my 15400-PCX-004 part number at hand and asked the gent to confirm what he was ordering. He claimed PCX-305. I informed him I wanted a PCX-004 and he told me he had been doing this a long time and I was wrong. Anyway I ordered PCX-004 but he claims my days are numbered ordering that as its now superseded by 305.

Anyone else heard this? I double checked with Honda Stirling who said the 305 was the 004 filter but comes with a removal tool!!!

Thought I would share. Can tell he was pissed off that I wanted a 004!

I've had it before. He gave you the spiel about all Hondas now use this new oil filter right? And that he's been working in the parts business for over twenty years? Pick up a Honda brochure and clap him round the head with it. PCX004 is the correct filter for the S.

15400-PCX-305 with the removal tool hasn't been available in the UK for a long long time

Unless it's been re-issued, which I very much doubt, he is wrong.....

A K&N OIL FILTER, not air filter-

http://www.knfilters.co.uk/search/pr...x?prod=HP-1004

Why would that struggle?

He did indeed tell me how long he had been in the parts business. He was sure he was right and got really touchy when I told him I didn't want it and to see me the 004.

I think both were £11.45.

Anyways thought i would share-few Aberdeen lads on here who might be about to get the same issue if the cars are going on for summer.

Hope you haven't annoyed him as he's giving me trade price on rear disks and pads ;-) Not bought them yet. Planning to do that in the next few weeks. Will have car unsorned start of May. Need a passenger rear caliper too but Honda dealer were expensive. Was thinking of replacing the front disks and pads while I'm at it as they look guy rusty and have never been done.. Unfortunately I'll need to get someone to sort the brakes at my house or try and do them myself. Caliper is completely seized now and car won't budge.
