Default Looking for advice on the best was to sell my brother's car

He's not doing so well and asked me to sell his car. What would be the best way to do this...forum for sale post, craigs list, other options? I hope this post does't violate any rules. i've been away for years but my account is still here. I had to sell my S2K in 2009 to buy a car that my newly licensed 16 y/o could drive. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!

Craigslist is free and works pretty well on a normal occasion. Autotrader.com and cars.com are pretty good too but not free.

There are a few Facebook groups out there with thousands looking to buy S2Ks, but beware of douche baggery, low ballers, trash talkers, and potential scammers going this route.

You cannot post a car for sale here unless the car belongs to you.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. He will most likely sign it over to me to take care of so that will not be an issue. Is it also a requirement here to be a paid member to sell a car? Again thanks.

I assume it is an S2000? The type of car matters greatly on where you list it for sale.

I've seen people selling cars here in the lounge forum up above.

depending on the type of car and how much they want it. CarMax has been known to offer a pretty decent amount for the right car. Still not as much as a private sale but if its the right car they wont insult you like a dealership will. And its a quick and pretty painless process. Good luck.

So will most dealers, which is pathetic compared to the current market value of the S2000

Agreed, if you haven't already, do CarMax. I've sold 2 cars to them and have had zero issues. I had a number in my head before going in, and they met it 1st shot without me even telling them what number I had in my head.

Depends on the car too...

As others have asked, is it an S2000?
