July 6 & 7 - S2000's at Watkins Glen with SCDA
S2000's will be returning to Watkins Glen in July with SCDA. The dates are the 6th and 7th, right after the Independence Day holiday.
New England has always had strong representation with NH_S2K_Guy, NoDelta and pgss2k attending the last two years. I hope more of you will be able to come out and attend this year.
This is a link to the sign-up thread in Upstate: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/111...len-with-scda/
Please note:
- This year SCDA will be using the Short Course (because of asphalt repair in the Boot section). The 2.4 Mile short course is still fun and fast. Basically three high speed straights punctuated by a few corners as you will see in the video below
- Also sign-up for this year has been made much easier. Using a code you will register and pay SCDA direct without having me in the role of a middle man. (You will PM me with your name (full), email address and phone number, and I will email the code to you)
- Please see the SCDA FAQ for any questions that you seek answers to http://www.scda1.com/faq/

Keep in mind, Watkins Glen is a historic racetrack and the surrounding area and village of Watkins Glen are etched with memories of Grands Prix past.
You will get 2 hours of track time per day with SCDA. That is four 30 minute sessions.
Plenty to check out. You can drive the old course as well and visit the International Motor Racing Research Center

The bar at Seneca Lodge has plenty of racing memorabilia on its walls.

I don't care what Aashish or NoDelta say! I'm coming. No crappy MGA that has no VTEC and wants to spin out. I'm bringing the S2000!
This video from 2013 has me following Aashish & NoDelta for a good part of the session. The guy running top down is Mark L. from New Hampshire:

To answer Prazision, I run stock, top up. That's me in one of the pictures posted above. If you can do the same with a helmet on, you should be OK (as long as you don't roll - and you shouldn't). I sit a little tall in the saddle, and the top masks any potential broomstick violation. More important that you have good brakes, so check your pads and fluid. SCDA is S2000 friendly.
For Mr. AZfury, they do allow sign up for one day, although maybe not with the discount that Aashish has finagled.
