Default OEM hardtop and rear window tint

anyone ever have the OEM hard top tinted or the rear window? im not interested in having the side windows tinted. i think it looks absurd with the top down and the windows up.

just would like to hear how it went especially with the HT being so bid and curved on two planes.

I had my hardtop and soft top window tinted. The process was simple... so I'm not too sure what answers you're looking for. I dropped my car off to the guy who does all of my tinting... about 45 minutes and $80 later the hardtop window was tinted. It took him about an hour to both both sides and my soft top window and I think I paid about $120 for sides and soft top window.

Why does everyone as that? I have heard so many people that have never owned a convertible be critical of this as well. At freeway speed the wind noise isn't really pleasant but with the windows up and a taller windscreen (for those of us that are taller) it is much more pleasant.

The whole point of driving top down is for the whole experience. If you're gonna keep the windows up with a big ass windscreen, might as well buy a Camry with a sunroof. Or buy a Z4 or Boxster, then it looks normal.

Lol. Ok. That's the same thing all those people that have never owned a convertible say. It's not the same but I guess some people don't get that.

As for tint conpanies I haven't used one here in Wa. I usually look on yelp for the highest ratings.

yah i got some reading done but the HT is kind of a weird shape and I presume it needs to come off the car. not a hard thing to do but just more a pain. was hoping someone had already done this and had some good review of a local shop.

It really should not be hard. It is a curved piece of glass there is plenty of cars with curved rear windows. My civic hatch they had a hard time with because it not only was curved it had a wiper and other junk which made it harder to do. Any decent shop should be able to do it if they express concern find a different one.
