Default Does the cubby hole lid come off?

Mine is scratched - can it be removed by itself so I can swap it for a good one?

I am planning on swapping it for another one but don't know if it will come off or does it need to be swapped as a whole unit?

The hinge in mine is split. I'm told its a pretty big job to replace the whole unit as you have to get to the mountings behind it - but if anyone has a guide to how its done I'd really be interested.

I have a new unit in my loft for the past 4 years that i've never got around to replacing.

What a twat of a job it is to remove the glovebox - all straight forward apart from the 3 screws which are behind the rear cover that can't be removed, I managed to prop the cover open so that I could get some small angled ratchet in with a screw driver bit to remove the 3 screws.

Taken me 40 mins in total to remove it - half way through I was thinking to myself whether it was worth the effort or not.

I used these to remove the screws, without them you need to remove the rear panel which the roof sits on when it's down:

Anyway it's off now and I can put the wiring and switches in for the heated seats at the same time.

This is is some SOUND advice.

Had to threadlock my 12v a while back... took ages, and plenty cut hands later to do so.

Do it now and you won't regret it later! Haha.
