If they won't, I'm sure trading standards will be interested....

Have you actually been to see the car yet?? What markings are on the tyres?

The Honda dealer may well have entered wrong details on the sheet, especially if it was typed up by some unknowing bimbo....
Yeah i've been for a test drive and i have a picture of the tyres but i can only make out the name Focus 9000 not the size. It is a possibility yeah, hopefully it turns out their 245's id rather this be easy lol.

Death trap because the brakes have corrosion and they've put budget tyres on it? They will do, it's a dealer that will want to take as much profit as possible. To them, the tyres are brand new and there'll be nothing wrong with them. To us, we wouldn't recommend driving the car with them on.

Not sure, it warrants being called a death trap, when the report from a Honda specialist says it's all good apart from corroded brakes and budget tyres.

If you want it, buy it and accept that you'll have to spend a couple of hundred quid to get it right. If they won't budge on price and you can't accept that, then walk away. These couple of problems wouldn't stop me buying the car if everything else about it is good!

Hahaha yeah fair enough deathtrap is over the top i was just in rage mode at the time of writing i'm just excited to be nearly getting the car, emotions getting to me haha.

But in all honesty i have read some things where people do say budget tyres do put you at risk maybe i took that a bit too far? I just want the car too be safe and sound is all it's a lot of money and im just trying to be careful.

What would be the effect of having 215 Budget tires on the back though? This will be my first RWD car too and i know this one appears to have a bit of a rep in regards to being tail happy at times so im taking that into account.
My question would be, are they 215 tyres on the rear on rims that match, or are they still 245 rims with 215 tyres on. 215 tyres on 245 rims would be noticeably different. If they are new tyres then the garage can take them off and reuse them without any worry.

Yeah i've bought the car, the brakes aren't as bad as first assumed all is gravy baby I will be buying full discs and pads for it soon though and new tyres. They've all got life in them and im not trying push it to the limit (queue the music) just yet. The tyre sizes were fine in the end turns out the independent specialist accidentally put the wrong size on the report Just cant win at these things some times!

But yeah smooth sailing now and learning the car, apart from the random back pain but i've adjustrf the seat and ive been messing with lumbar support so hopefully ive sorted it.

Cant walk away from a car i've bought

Thats what they are priced at at the moment. I've seen them going for a lot more too and they're selling like crazy At the end of the day i've got the exact car i wanted and that i wanted a good 10 years ago. Money is money, i can earn more of that i dont feel i really paid over the odds in the current market.

And i am extremely picky if i have my heart set on a certain car with certain wheels/features i wont stop till i get it - Its a right pain in the ass and i wish i wasnt like that but i am haha.

Greenman - Yeah lumbar support as in my own eggshell foam lumbar support inserted into the seat
