Just saw this ad, not cheap at $31K but low mileage (<29k kms)'08 SSM with Red Black Interior.
I spoke with the seller of this car before he put this ad up. It had a lien out of Illinois, and then once imported to Vancouver, it found itself at an auto auction a few years later.

..so it's gone through five or six owners so far.

It also has rim curbage and scuffs on the right side fender (which he doesn't include photos of in the ad). He's willing to sell it for $28K as that's what he offered me before I declined. The 31K was my suggestion to him.

I've been looking for a stock SSM AP1 (that's reasonably priced) since last summer if anyone can help out...

^excellent info, it's a sister vehicle to my car, must've been built a few weeks (months) before mine though as my car didn't need to do the recall. Some of the owners are probably dealers/wholesalers. It seems the current owner has had it for a few years though. I would imagine the lien was paid off before it was allowed to be imported to Canada.

Its been six years since they stopped making them, and it will get harder and harder to find low mileage AP2's. The prices aren't going to come down, in fact, they will be going up. Someone said earlier in this thread that there isn't another great value-for-performance sports car out there yet, so the S2000 is still desirable. Having said that, the 2015 Mazda Miata is going to be a bonafide alternative.

Do you mean the 2016 due to be released soon?

Despite the fact that the new MX5 still doesn't have the chops of the S2000, Mazda has given it a nice facelift. It will likely be fun to drive, it seems priced right and should sell well, but it's still not as good as a 2K. It even has its own web site (allnewmx5.ca).

I'd be very tempted to take one for a test drive but wouldn't buy one. I'm spoiled by my 2K

I've often wondered if Honda would still be making the 2K if the bottom hadn't started falling out of the auto market back in 2006. Mazda had the courage to stick with it.

Yes, sorry, meant to say the 2016 Miata!
The facelift makes it a gorgeous looking car - its become beefy and substantial now.
They've also taken off about 240 lbs off the weight of the car, which does wonders for the power to weight ratio.
Just like our car, it isn't about the raw horsepower but the driveability of it; how the power gets to the ground and how the chassis behaves when tossed around.
Compared to the current Miata, I agree that the S does everything just that bit better - but I understand that gap has closed considerably with the new Miata.

Heads Up !!!!

Imola Orange is a fascinating color ... I normally don't like orange but when I saw one in Vancouver a few weeks ago I was impressed.

If you are willing to hop a plane for Winnipeg ......
2007 Imola Orange for sale in Winnipeg

If I had the cash, I'd buy it sight unseen. It's a Canadian car, in the rarest of colours for this country. I did a bit of searching and found that there were only about 1100 of this colour made world-wide. Originally, in some countries, you had to pay a premium for orange but perhaps not in Canada. The price seems very reasonable for a dealership.

I wonder if it's the same car as in this posting from last year?? ....

saw this posted last year as well and oddly enough under craigslist vancouver but stating it's in winnipeg.

rare color and great to make a copy of the amuse s2000, but it would be wiser to keep it stock.

I agree, this car is rare enough that it should be kept as stock as possible for future resale value.

For grins I called the dealership. The car had one accident, a right-rear-corner repair for about $1600, probably just a minor fender-bender with most of the cost for the respray. He said there have been a *lot* of calls from BC and Ontario so far.

I'm not surprised the dealer has been getting lots of calls. Right now, that car is priced a few grand lower than what most (non-rare colour) '07s are going for.
