Default 120,000K service

I've just booked the car in for a service. Mileage is at £120,000 and 12 months and 4,500 miles since last one. My dealer (Redhill Honda) say they'll do a standard "12" service. Price seems Ok and I've dealt with them before so know they'll do a great job.

Is there anything else that I should ask them to look at. ?

I asked them about plugs and they said they'd take one out and take a look and make an assessment on the day. anything else not on the standard service plan sheet that I should ask them to check ?

Thanks all

Had a search on "service" but too many results come back !

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/301...nical-faq-v21/ Post #3, I'm sure you looked at this but as Honda change the goalposts on servicing, this would be a good place to start on what to ask for.

It's saying gear box oil and coolant.

Thanks Rich

Looks like a check on drive belts and a change of diff fluid wouldn't go amiss too at this mileage.

I can't recall if there's just one belt that drives everything but belts are cheap. Replacement is good preventive maintenance.

The old schedule is far better than the "Honda Crapiness" service now offered, I'd go for servicing with an independent used to performance cars rather than the Honda pensioner service.

I have recently asked them to either to a Honda 12, plus any other bits that need doing according to the 9,000 schedule in the FAQ, as it can work out cheaper.

Additional items are as follows:
  • Air filter
  • Valve clearances
  • Spark Plugs
  • Drive belts adjustment
  • Coolant replacement
  • Transmission fluid
  • Differential fluid

Having said that, the last service I had done was the equivalent of the 54k service (162k miles) and it worked out less expensive to go with that as a discount was available on that and not on the Honda 12.

I'd like at the fuel pump suction sock may need changed, mine was slightly dirty at 135k on my old s2000.

Your car has done 162k miles on the original engine?!

136k at the moment but I messed up which service it should have had last. It should have been the 135k (81k equivalent), so it's had newer spark plugs than it should have.
