Lim's did a great job. Used Yellow Super Weatherstrip to glue a patch about 4" by 5" to fit the section of the tear inside between the bars (also did the left side as insurance - no tear there). Then a little black silicone on the outside to cover the tear itself. See how long it lasts, but it looks good.

Just called Lims. They want $1595 for a cloth top install. Is its just me or is that way overpriced?

Anyone know of any places in Montgomery County MD?

Way high...I'm guessing that is with them sourcing the top but still way to high.

Best is to buy the top yourself from: http://www.topsonline.com/model/Conv...nda_S2000.html that would run you 500-700 depending on model.
Then others in this thread said they got the install done for around 600. There was a ton of interest in a group install done by 2POOR2MOD who has done a ton of quality top replacements look for that post.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I can wait for a group install, I've been putting this off for way too long. My seats were wet....now they're frozen.

If you're willing to make the drive to zip 08077, basically Philly, I could do the top and save you some $ over that ridiculous price you've already been quoted. No need to wait for a group buy/install. PM me if you're interested.

The quote you received from Lim's is a fair price. Keep in mind Lim's is an establishment, not a private party working for cash on the side. Lim's is the only place in the area that i trust for anything upholstery, but if you can find someone good willing to do it on the side for less, than go for it. Often too many times i see comparison's in cost from Shops to Private parties and the two cannot be compared. I can do it but I'm just as much a Lim's...... Good Luck with your search!

I understand that. I was just expecting closer to $600 for top and $600 for labor. I just wanted to make sure they weren't gouging me. A shop in Frederick quoted me $648 labor and $940 for an aftermarket top which seems ridiculous, and of course they'll charge more labor if I buy my own top.
Thanks

If you have the time, replace the top yourself. I did mine in 2 days.
