S2000 Bfast Drive - Sat May 30th
CONFIRMED - the BBQ B'Fast drive is a GO this Saturday morning. The weather is an unknown - but we won't be driving on any roads in the flood zones. Our primary purpose is to hit Snow's BBQ, which you'll find is a big step above both Blacks and Smittys.
Snow's BBQ in Lexington was rated the #1 BBQ restaurant in Texas in 2008 (and therefore in the world)... and with the huge growth since then in BBQ joints is still in the top 5. Check this out: How Snows BBQ Rose from Obscurity to Texas BBQ Stardom.
Snow's is only open on Saturday mornings... and it is so good that a line forms when they open at 8, and then the BBQ starts to run out before 11. Therefore a phenomena known as "The BBQ Breakfast" is the norm there. It's the only way to be guaranteed your choice of their offerings.
Here's the drive: we'll meet at Walmart on 290E, on the right just past Manor, at 7 AM, and drive as a group to Snow's to arrive around 8-8:15.
This is a semi-scenic drive... down 290 to Elgin and thru, then turn off 290 and onto 20 miles of scenic back roads. We'll eat as a group, then you are on your own for the return. You will easily be back home in Austin well before 11, so you have the full day to do other things. Or you can continue on, perhaps along some interesting roads - and perhaps if you are gluttonous enough on up to Mueller's BBQ in Taylor for lunch.
This is an informal drive... preferably take your S2000, or take the family hauler, and guests in other cars are welcome.
Snows is well worth it... it's phenomenal.

Looks like it'll just be me- wife will be in South Dakota for a funeral. Bummer.
I'll see if I can find a buddy to join up. Sounds like a good time. Either way, count me in.

CONFIRMED - we're going. See the first post above.
Deception9 - there aren't any flood waters on these roads, so your car will be fine. Bring your buddies too.
