Hello,

So it looks like I will be joining the Houston S2000 club! I'm stoked! At the end of next week I hope to purchase an S from a private seller in NC, then will proceed to drive her back to Texas. My plan is as follows:

1. Fly to NC
2. Put eyes on the car & hopefully decide to purchase the car.
3. Go to our (mutual) bank to transfer the funds and have the title/bill of sale notarized.
4. Add the car to my insurance via phone.
5. Drive it back to Texas over the weekend.

I am concerned about the legality of driving the car through NC, SC, GA, MS, AL, & LA to TX without having plates/registration. I found on the TX DOT website you can purchase a Temporary Permit which is valid for 30 days. Would this be sufficient for me to legally drive the car? or do I need something from NC, or one of the other states I'll be driving through?

I plan to contact the TX DOT during the next week, but I was hoping one of yall might have the answer.
