Default Front Bumper Fabrication

I have had a wanted posting in the Lounge for a while for front bumpers in any condition. I thought that I would share what I am doing with them.

I have changed to 20 mm offset wheels on my race car. With so much more track, the tires stick way out in the air, thus for aerodynamics I wanted a wider front bumper. Even with my previous 40 mm offset wheels, I added sheet aluminum to widen the bumper cover. Below is the before picture with a previously damaged bumper (thanks Dev), showing how wide the wheels/tires are.

The next pics show the added width (from my original badly damaged bumper) held on with clecos and then welded into place.

The plastic welding takes a while to get used to and I had to use lots of plastic adhesive filler to smooth it all out. Below is the finished bumper and the extra wide fender.

Thanks. The plastic welding was all new to me and half way through I was wondering if it was all going to work. Hoping that with air hitting it at 130 mph that it will all hold together. There are somethings that I will try differently for the next one. Also had twice the work this time, since I had to widen the fenders more than what they had already been.
