Default pwdjdm intake vs oem/snorkel vs k&n/snorkel

is it worth the money for the password jdm intake or should i stick with getting either a oem or a k&n with a snorkel attached? i currently have a injen intake but the throttle response is terrible

pwjdm sells garbage quality carbon fiber.

get j's racing carbon intake. price is similar but you need to cut your oem hood unless you have aftermarket hood.

Interesting and what a coincidence. I would like to see what others have to share too because I have been thinking about getting rid of my K&N intake and cooling plate for a Spoon snorkel.

I would think any air duct that directs colder air to the intake would provide better throttle response, right?

Ya it's supposed to do that. The only issue I'm having is I can't make up my mind on which one to go with. There is a snorkel to k&n intake mod I've seen on another tread btw

The best bang for the buck would be making your own custom intake setup..
i made a custom 3.5" cold air with a 3.5" velocity stack that was created two members on the form

Here is everything you will need to order to make this intake. this setup was dyno tested by both slowd16 and dc50818 (both putting out over 230whp)
no dyno yet, but throttle response is awesome and car picked up low/mid/top nicely on the booty dyno lol
Throttle reponse is a night and day difference, and this intake will make more power then any off the shelf setup with only a fraction of the price.
for anyone looking to make Slowd16/dc50818 custom intake setup
here is a site that has everything you need http://www.siliconeintakes.com/
3.5" 90 degree couplers $20 (2 needed) http://www.siliconei...e-90-p-416.html
3.5" straight aluminum pipe $20 http://www.siliconei...pipe-p-758.html
3.5" 90 degree aluminum pipe $25 http://www.siliconei...pipe-p-751.html
3.5 to 2.75" silicone reducer $12 http://www.siliconei...ducer-p-66.html (obviously if you aren't running the stock TB, then get your corrected size)
3.5" velocity stack $15 http://www.siliconei...ack-p-9519.html

Pwjdm appears to make the most torque. It is str legal if you are looking to fit in that autox class. It is expensive and from what i have seen, does not have that stupid "intake" sound i have grown to hate

Just as a FYI on this. A 3.5-3" reducer works when going to the stock TB. Its a little loose but once clamped on its fine. So if you think you might go bigger TB might as well get that.

And yes, this will make the most power and be on the least expensive side of it. If you need to fit into STR or something like that for autox, just make it a Short Ram and run it like the FIPK

I think all in on my intake was less than $200. Car made 233/168 SAE
