Default Which sandwich plate, and delete oem heat exchanger?

Guys,

I am looking to setup and install an oil cooler in my AP1 S2000.

Currently in this department I have defi gauges providing me output of oil temp and pressure where a greddy sandwich plate is installed to tap these sensors.

I now want an oil cooler, and prefer not double stacking plates to run my gauges and oil cooler.

I have looked at Greddy's lineup and found part number 12401126 type E as an "all-in-one" sandwich plate that will allow me to run the oil in and out lines for the oil cooler utilising -10AN fittings and hoses. Secondly it looks like there are twin 1/8th NPT ports for me to run my sensors for gauge readings.

I just wanted to confirm that this is all that is required to run the oil cooler, and gauges.

Secondly I cannot find too much info on the benefits of either keeping, or deleting the OEM heat exchanger commonly referred to as the donut. From my brief research, it looks like it is better to retain it especially for primarily driven street cars as it allows oil temps to get up to optimum temp faster than deleting it. Having said that the sandwich plate that I stated above, I ahve found info that it also has a thermostat that opens up at around 80degree Celcious, or around 180 fahrenheit.

Any downside for a street car primarily to keep the OEm heat exchanger, and run this sandwich plate. Just want to make sure I am not wasting moeny buying incorrect parts for the AP1.

Cheers,
Alex
