Check your oil pressure, if it's low it's the reason the tct noise comes back. I would get a new short block from Honda if this one is damaged

Old thread bump, BUT... we replaced our TCT with Billman's and it is the best! Evan replaced the TCT himself and all is good. Billman is a super nice guy

I did several oem replacements on my ap1 until finally getting a Billman TCT (at the time it was called a gen-3). It was great though mine eventually started making noise too. He replaced it with a new GenX at no cost to me. He's always been a great resource for the forum.

Wonder what makes some go and some not - at 168K on the original TCT so far. Or perhaps I am going deaf.

Oil consumption/pressure levels in each engine is the common culprit.
That's why it tends to happen most to AP1. Mine consumed oil quite fast in it's final couple of years. If I didn't stay on top of it, I could almost guarantee a TCT failure
