CR Suspension Replacement

CR Suspension Replacement
Hi all,
My CR is having suspension issues and I am trying to replace all parts with the OEM, however it looks like they have discontinued it? I am wondering if anyone knows of a place that might still carry the parts?
Also what would be my alternative in the 2.5k range to make the CR ride and perform better than stock?
Thanks in advance,
Cris

Where have you checked? Try Majestic Honda for those parts. By the way do I have your Vin info for the CR Roll Call, if not pm me the last four numbers of the VIN and a general location you wish shown. Thanks.

PM Sent!
I called them up and they have front left on back order, the front right is discontinued, 1 rear right possibly available, and rear left is discontinued. Theses are the complete assemblies any other places?

Wow! See if the individual parts are available. It could be the complete struts are in short supply, but the individual pieces are still available. In the mean time I'll do some research.

I just checked with 3 different places with the same verdict. I did check for the shock absorbers by themselves and it was back order with no availability.

I hope your research finds a needle otherwise it is looking like aftermarket is the only choice.

Try here:

Hopefully he has them, I could't find a source anywhere that had the struts and none that knew when they might be back in stock.

Steven,
I sent a request on www.hardtopguy.com to check availability this morning however I have not heard back.
Thanks for looking into it.
So plan B... what would be comparable or better than stock replacement?

I guess it comes down to the CR's intended use. If it's a daily driver I would buy some pre '02 Ap1 struts and put your CR springs on them, the Ap1 struts are fairly similar to the CR factory struts and should compliment the CR springs. Another idea, if you do spirited drives, track days or just like a performance oriented suspension you might read this thread.

Thanks again for all of your help.
I think I am going to go with the Ohilns DFV they seem to fit what I want out of my car. Compliant daily driving over bumpy roads and occasional track days.

I ordered cr shocks from hardtop guy like a month ago. He has my fronts but the rears are on back order from Honda. I believe the ETA is unknown. I contacted Bernardi and they told me the same thing
