Default RSX Type S Subwoofer installed into AP2

Hello All ,

Just like everyone here I decided to get the sub from RSX one and installed to my AP2 and I'm having the issue with the thump sound whenever I turn on / off the car . Does anyone here have this issue and how do you solve it ? I have ran thru a few threads but none of them mentioned about it .

Anyways , here is what I have connected right now :

1. From the HU ( Alpine ) run a pairs of RCA ( sub out ) directly to Bose Amp/Sub ( connected to purple & yellow wires here ).
2. Run a black ( ground) and a red wire ( +12V ) from the HU connocted to Bose Am/Sub ( ground & 12v here).
3. What am I missing here ? I just completed 4 wires from the Bose Sub .

Again , everything works great except that I have a thump sound every time I turn on / off the car . I'll be surprised if I have to use the Hi-low converter .

You ran the ground wire from the headunit to the amp? You should run the ground from the amp to the chassis somewhere close.

I did not/do not have a RSX sub setup. The start up thump is somewhat common to system installs and is usually a ground issue, or could be "noise" getting in your rca's.

Can you explain your wiring a little better? Are the RCA's converted to speaker wire to connect to the amp, or?

You are correct on the RCA's . One end connected from the Sub-out ( Alpine HU ) the other end hardwired directly to the Bose Amp ...

Hmm.. Weird. Maybe you could try an actual adapter?

Another thing you can try is a relay between the remote and amp. This would slow the amp turning on for a second and allow the HU to power up first.
