Default Rim repairs, RIMPRO, Tewksbury

Just putting in a good word for this place. One of my stock wheels that I use for snowies had corrosion on the bead and had been slow-leaking for years. They fixed it in about 15 minutes.

Not sure if anyone else has had that problem, but I've put about 10 winters on those old wheels and got sick of pumping up the tire every couple of weeks during the freezing weather.

Anyway, thumbs up.

Great place. They were able to repair a badly damaged rim that was a result of a side swipe by a tow truck.

Thanks for the reference. I was about to abandon the steel wheels on my vintage racecar that need to be straightened. Impossible to replace, so I'll give them a call and see if they can handle.

Worth a try! Not sure it's worth a trip from CT, though.

Another upvote for RIMPRO. I used to take my butter soft G8GT wheels there.

For CT, these guys are also highly recommended: http://www.precisionwheelservicect.com/

The oxidized rim on my stock wheel has been holding air since they fixed it. Not that I've actually needed my snow tires very much (yet).

As with all things Honda (or in this case, Enkei), parts are built so closely to tolerance/sameness that I now have a second wheel experiencing the same slow air loss. I'll be making another trip to RimPRO sometime in the next few weeks. Salt is apparently tough on the stock AP1 wheels. It's funny, I never though Aluminum "rusted" before, but it definitely does experience its own type of oxidation which clearly affects the rim/bead seal.

Chaz are the wheels clearcoated?
The aluminum oxide can get under the clear coat causing bubbles that are where the leak is.

Good question, Jer. I have no idea. These are the stocker, AP1 wheels.

I think the guys at RIMPRO just ground the lip down a little bit.
