Default dls car thread

Hi. ive been on the forum for about 18 months now and my car has changed dramatically. So i thought i would post up my car when purchased and pictures of what has happened to it since. Still lots to do as i always go on and off of modifications. The hope is that one day i have gone forced induction whether that be turbo or supercharged.

so i purchased in june 2015 from a nice man from mildenhall suffolk. So only about half hours drive. It had covered a little more miles than i was hoping but my budget was borderline between a higher facelift model and a lower preface. But me liking the facelift looks more i went for that. If i can remember right the car was up for 6500 with 97000 on the clock, hpi clear, still had hardtop ect. After some haggling i got him down to a very ripe price of 5300 and i was very happy with that! Being 23 at the time i was worried about insurance even though i had got some quotes before purchasing obviously. Anyway first year cost me around the 600 mark as 23 year old with 5 years no claims which i thought was acceptable.

Then came the modifications. I had seen pictures of what i was looking for but as always i was in the mind set that whatever i purchase i wanted to be able to remove to sell when the day finally came that i would get rid. Heres the first pictures of the car up to how it sits today.

So after lowering i then got a front oem rep lip sprayed and a ebay special oem spoiler which matched perfectly. The front lip on the other hand is not 100% perfect, it came up slightly small so needed a bit of stretching. Next time i would always got genuine oem for fitment but hey. I also managed to get a hold of a jdp rear carbon fibre diffuser from someone in Belgium. Im still not sure about it to this day. sometimes i like it sometimes i dont.

At this point i was looking for some wheels and came across a very cheap set of rota d2s with toyo t1rs all round brand new. So made the trip to get them and they fitted nicely, even if the gold was a bit flashy.

After a while of owning them i realised i was after something different so i sold them on. Then stupidly purchased so bbs Lm splits. The guy told me the centre bore was 73mm and like a dick i didnt check and it turned out to be 69mm. So anyway long story short i couldnt fine anyone who would bore them out. ( and i did try many engineering companies). So they then had to go, which i wasnt to worried about because they needed more work than i wanted to put in and i didnt like the black on black.

Priar to this i purchased so rep side strakes. They look pretty good but you cant beat the oem. which i originally thought they were, until i actually saw them and he said "ow ye there reps". But ow well they were alot cheaper than genuine!

This week i decided i needed to get the 4 piece mats as my girlfriend likes to ruin the carpet and a nice set of red ones came up on ebay. 80 later including delivery they were mine. Still stupidly expensive but nowhere near the astronomical 170 price tag they retail at! Completely changes the inside of the car and being all red it was a change from my black mats. Got a mugen gear knob as well for s change up after have a skunk 2 for a while. And i forgot to mention the steering wheel which again is amazing quality! Recommend!
