Default How much have you paid for a full respray?

My S has not long turned 10 years old and it's paintwork could do with freshening up as it's stone chipped to hell and back with a number of small scratches here & there.

As the stone chips seem to be everywhere and I've wrinkled the paintwork on my rear bumper from popping flames before I had my map sorted it really could do with a complete blow over.

I've got no intention of getting rid of the car so if I get it done I want a proper job as in lights, door handles, bumpers, mirrors, etc off the car, windscreen out, etc & all dints taken care of.

With all this in mind has anyone else had similar work done in a good bodyshop & what did you pay?

I've been to look at a very reputable body shop close to where I live (I've seen some of the stuff they've done & it's absolutely amazing. For anyone on Facebook take a look at "The Italian Job alloy wheel repairs & body shop") & they are quoting 3 weeks work & £2,500.

Does this seem reasonable for a top notch job?

That does seem a reasonable price,my sister had her tvr tamora painted last year and paid £3500.and that wasn't a fancy tvr colour,he also painted my dads Marcos lm500 which was a fancy tvr flip colour = £4500
the paint finish was perfection so they was happy with the price they paid.
On the other hand..my brother had his rx7 painted £1800(through insurance) and with a supposedly reputable bloke,it was shite,2 months down the line the filler was sinking,it was egg Shelly in certain places.and to this day I see reviews saying how good he is(crazy)
Try to gather as much info as you can find on the company you intend to use.

The guys I plan to use have very recently done 2 Intragrale's, one of them being an Evo 2 which looked like the day it came out of the showroom - as per everything else they do.

At the end of the day you can easily spend £2.5k on a set of wheels for the S so for it to get a complete top notch makeover & make it look like brand new again seems reasonable.

Just had a look on their page, the work looks top notch, I'm glad this thread came up as this will be in the pipe line for my S2000.

Like I said to you on the book Martin.

Anto, Jay and their dad are spot on to be fair. My friend Matt had his DC5 done there last year that still looks spot on and my other friend Matt with the 135i his car is still looking spot on.

Sure you will be happy with their work mate.

Nothing else to add other than to agree, that's a fair price for what sounds like a good job. You see some of the work the c owboy outfits do, trim left on, overspray galore - its just not worth it. Do it once and do it right.
