Default Hardtop Installation

Hello Fellow Oregonians! I recently was able to source an OEM hardtop and I was wondering if any fellow S owners have experience doing the install of the rear catchers and fitting the hardtop to seal correctly. I'm no mechanic but I would like to try doing this myself since I already have all the parts. Anyone with experience who want's to help a newb out?

Quite a few on the board have done this or helped with it, but activity on here is pretty low in the winter months. You should be able to get some more replies soon though... Hiep, Anthony, Mike!

Thanks for the replies If I get some spare hours this weekend I think I'm going to go for for the fitting myself. My wife can help me lift it on and off. I don't think I'm going to do any wiring work to set up the defroster. If I have any trouble getting it to fit or adjust for leaks and wind noise I'll reach out. after the weekend for someone more experienced.

Here's a DIY with pics that should help if you want to do it at home https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/540...top-with-pics/

Also, I recommend ripping out the entire soft top, motors and all... it saves weight!!

Hi Guys so I was able to get the car set with catchers in rear of the car. I found I had a real problem getting the hardtop to fit the car. It seems the little nub that sits above the latch on the left hand side. It should slide right into the little pocket on the striker but with the top sitting in the rear catchers the little nubin will only sit on top of he striker. As you can imagine the latch will not really latch at this point and top sits too high on the drivers side. I tried for a long time to put the top on in different orders and it just wasn't working. I eventually had to lose 1 bolt off my striker and then it opened the angle up wide enough I could latch it just to get work.

Basically I'm having trouble just getting the fit to work. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions. I thought everything was working great until the very end when I tried to latch it.
