Default Looking to buy N/A S2k with boltons

So I check out the official header thread and the official exhaust thread as it has what I believe to be a Greddy TI-C single exhaust, and DC Sports header. Hes got some strange hose in the hood too which I have no clue what it's for and was wondering if someone could fill me in (the dealer didn't say much about it). The car sounds good with 95k miles; 2003. The hose is my biggest concern. Thank you.

Just a ventilation hose for the valve cover, the stock one is a metal pipe and a black hose.
It was most likely changed because of a different intake.

Thank you Slowd and Flanders, just wanted to make sure it wasn't some duck tape Macgyver fix. Will still do a PPI just to be safe.

Might have been so he can also visually see any oil passing through if there was a concern at some point. Maybe the car got tracked. The valve cover is painted and the coilpack cover is missing as well obviously.

I gave it a close look and it was clean however as you said the coilpack cover is missing odd.. Appreciate the replies but gonna pass on this one. Turns out it's had 6 owners (auctioned twice) two accidents one "disabled" the car. Just gotta be patient and wait for the perfect one hopefully all stock.

Here's the breather in Black. The clear hose looks awful.
