I've had them on my car for the past 2 winters, this being the third. My car is kept in an unheated garage all winter. I have not noticed any ill effects by doing this, even after the extreme cold we had last winter (and this weekend). I also havn't heard of anyone having issues from winter storage. Maybe the "disclaimer" is intended to discourage cold temperature use.

By the logic in this thread, I should have to store my winter tires in the freezer to prevent them from melting in the summer. LMFAO.
