Default Cut open Exhaust? - Resonator

Has anyone ever cut open the stock exhaust, more specifically the resonator?

I am trying to figure out the way it is attached to the main exhaust tube. Is the hole the same size as the resonator tube, or maybe just a small 20mm hole?

Is the resonator just an empty tube, or filled with something (Exhaust wool)?

Iv been given the measurements (Externally) from the OEM as I want to try and replicate the resonator on my Skunk2 exhaust.
This will give a similar look to what Amuse has done.

But before cutting into the centre section, I am trying to work out exactly what the interface is like between the resonator tube and the mid section.

If anyone can shed any light on this or may have an old rusty OEM exhaust and happy to cut the resonator off, it would be a massive help.

It is just an empty tube. The opening is the same size as the resonator.
The length of the resonator pipe determines which sound frequencies it will quieten down.
