I was in the same boat and just picked up a set of hks's for $950 lol. I just couldn't justify spending the extra $1000 or more when my car doesn't see any track time and probably never will (except maybe autox). I'll report back when I have the hks's installed but that extra money is either going towards a bbk or an oem hardtop so I can't complain about the extra $1000 burning a hole in my pocket haha

A bbk does not make your car stop faster or harder, it makes sure you can keep stopping hard over and over, like you do on the track. Its about preventing brake fade, not increasing braking power.

You don't need, or want, bbk for autocross either. Its just added unsprung weight.

What would make your car brake harder and faster? Tires. And potentially suspension that can deal better with dive.
