speed cameras in mass
I was traveling on 91 and also the mass pike this morning and noticed on both highways a couple of structures that go across all lanes of traffic and was wondering what they are. They are like metal skeletal structures I was hoping that they were not mounts for speed cameras not that I was speeding of course. Any one know what they are?

Also don't know why they'd be on 91, unless they're close to the on/off ramps of the pike?

So interestingly enough, I had to deal with these things the other night on the I90. The glue on my ez pass faded and I have to hold it up every time I use the lane. I didn't hold them up for those high speed RF readers, and the ez pass wouldn't read at the exit station, my best guess is that they're some sort of confirmation system? My pass worked fine this morning and when entering the I90.

I travel often between Sturbridge and the 495 interchange and more than once the EZ Pass system has not registered my transponder with the traffic light system. This was before the towers were ever installed. The system still records me going through, so it is just the lights that don't register. That may be your case and it may not have anything to do with the new towers.
