The Eleventh Annual Tomcatt Memorial Meet
#111
I got home this afternoon at 17:50 (5:50 PM) after an 871.1 mile weekend. (My S turned 140K miles on the way home).
Thanks again to Jonas for putting this year's TCR together again.
I agree with the others that it was a great weekend. As I have stated before, the TCR is one of my favorite meets. Especially, because the drive out to Marietta and back are almost as much fun as the run down RT26. On Friday when I drove out on U.S. RT 50 I got lucky and was able to drive most of the fun parts in Eastern WV unimpeded. Today, knowing that RT 50 would be clogged with HD Riders (AKA Organic Speed Bumps) out for a "putt", as well as Sunday Drivers, I drove west on Ohio RT 7 and then down RT 16 to Smithville, WV then east on RT 47, Then RT 33 to RT 55 etc. Except for getting stuck behind a pick up pulling a boat on a trailer going about 30 MPH under the 55 MPH speed limit on RT 16 for miles I got lucky most of the rest of the time driving for miles without seeing another vehicle on WV roads with a speed limit of 55 MPH (when even in an S one can only do or exceed the speed limit about 20% of the time).
P.S. It was great that Hilly and Krystal attended. The other memorable moment for me was on Friday night when a local S-2000 owner bumped into us and stopped by the Hampton Inn to hang out and socialize for awhile. He asked me some questions about the car that new information to him after twelve years of ownership. But the special moment was seeing the expression on his face when I showed him his secret compartment. "Hear" that Granny Rod?
