You can probably get the Billman Gen-X TCT in Oz but note it requires a core exchange or you eat the cost of it
I use BP 98 octane fuel here, have always used it without any issues.
Edit: noticed my TCT has NTN-1 written on it, so guess it aint a Billman TCT.

I've been watching heaps of youtube videos, listening to s2000 engines and it seems that most of them tick and the owners don't really seem bothered by it so I think I'm just going to live with it. The car is super fun to drive and the engine seems good and strong so will stop fixating on the sound and start enjoying the car

I just installed Billmans TCT. Took all of 15 minutes including removing the air box. Super simple bolt on job. Unfortunately my old tensioner looked perfect with absolutely no wear to the pin. My engine sound did not change at start up like I hoped it to. I guess it's one less thing to worry about. The install couldn't be any easier.
I tried to find the quote from Billman when I ordered my TCT from him but all my old messages are gone. He said that sooner or later the TCT will slowly go bad and another OEM one or "repaired" one will fail eventually as well. Even though I had no symptoms at 50K miles I performed a pre-emptive strike. Easy install. Sent the core back and got the deposit. Billman is great to work with.

I think they meant that you'll need to ship your old tensioner back to Billman (NY). Well worth it, IMHO. I don't believe you can find same built TCT anywhere else in the world.

NTN is the Oem manufacturer of the tensioner.

I think you may just be paranoid. Mine sounds just like that. Granted, I have 178,000 miles on my AP1 motor but it still pulls hard.
No abnormal oil burning
No coolant leaking...
No smoke.
And it sounds very "ticky".
You did compression tests and those are pretty good nunmbers. F20/22's aren't smooth motors, from my understanding, theyre pretty noisy...so i think you're probably overthinking it.

Mechanical valve lifters and multiple cams are "clicky.' As is a loose timing chain caused by a worn out TCT. The price of the Billman Gen-X depends on sending the OEM unit and bolts to him in Long lsland. Refund hit my paypal account the day he got it back.
There was a recent change to spark plug torque but I don't have it handy. It went up. May be higher than 21 lb-ft. Replacement OEM plugs are pre-gapped and have anti-seize on the threads, don't add more.
North American cars are designed to run on 91 octane and "may be damaged" with fuel less than 87. Every pump in the US and Canada has at least 87. North American octane numbers are the average of the two numbers with 93 being the same as the "old" 98. I was surprised I could not find 93 octane at either Shell or BP once I got north of Milwaukee last week. The 91 octane was labelled as ethanol-free but I was told that was a lie. My car was tuned on 93 but I'm not sure it makes any difference.

Just a quick update -
Installed the k&n FIPK intake and kinda made it quieter initially :S Went for a drive tonight and hit vtec a few times and it sounds ticky. Checked oil straight after car was turned off and initially it was 2x's below the top (H) mark, checked it again and it was then same, then checked again and it's at the top X and have been checking continuously and it's at the top of the top X just below H.
Turned it on again after a while and it sounds the usual but strangely i noticed that if I hold the revs at around 1.5k rpm the ticking stops, but any higher or lower than that rpm and it's there :S
Any thoughts?
