I connect the bluetooth on my Androids (Galaxy S2 and now Sony Z3 Compact) to both my OBD2 and 10Hz GPS at the same time.

An el cheapo OBD2 worked perfectly, something similar to this: https://www.amazon.c...uetooth+adapter

I have upgraded to an LX as linked above. It has one or two nice things, but is no faster at refreshing as the AP1 refresh rate is limited by the car (to about 1Hz). If you have an AP2, then it's probably worth spending the extra.

App used to monitor things is Torque Pro: https://play.google....rg.prowl.torque

So I expect you'd be fine linking to a head unit and OBD2 at the same time.

Here's what I use it for:

What Sensors are you planning to monitor while driving? I can't see anyone turning on their phone 100% of the time to display gauges.
bought your recommendation of the OBD-II (bluetooth) very good piece of equipment. Easy to install and easy to modify the gauge displays. A little more expensive than the others but it comes with its own dedicated app that gives you a bunch of custom input options that others would have to pay to unlock in other apps.
Thanks!

so far I'm pretty darn happy with the capabilities and ease of use for my OBD-II scanner.
ran into a problem with dashboard gauge readouts, but turned out to be user error.
here's a link to my little problem (and solution) and the forum for the device in case you've bought one yourself and have a few questions.

VERY COOL! what mount do you use to keep your phone in that spot? I've been looking for one!
also, how do your coolant temps look during/after your runs?

That's a modifry dash bracket, so available in LHD as well: http://www.modifry.com/index.php?rou...&product_id=93

Coolant temps have always stayed steady at around 89F (IIRC) on track.
