congrats, but be careful of this forum, you may catch the mod bug. It starts off slow with maybe some new wheels, or a different sway bar, then it is coilovers, and then you are falling down a slippery slope and rolling fenders and installing a turbo!

Hey,
Picking up a black 01 with 47k tomorrow. I have been dying to pick up a 2000 for about 10 years. I have gone through everything from Porsche 914s, Cayman, 911, Challenger SRT, VW GTI Turbo, etc. I am hoping the Honda is the grail car!
I live in Warner Robins, GA. Any other S2000 guys in the midstate?

Looks like a good buy!
Good tires are vital to this car's handling. Extreme or Max summer tires are recommended. A switch to OEM 17" wheels will offer more tire choices. This year model is heavily balanced to oversteer especially if you lift the throttle in a tight curve. More than one of us have ended up in the cattails.
Read the maintenance threads. Standard advice is to put all fresh fluids in the car to get a good maintenance baseline. This includes coolant and brake/clutch fluid. Engine oil analysis is inexpensive from Blackstone Labs.
The early AP1 engines are oil "sensitive" with many reporting they drink Mobile One. Other full synthetics seem better in this respect.

Congrats! I switched from numerous BMW's to an S2K and I am so happy not having any CELS come on or window regulators failing and the list goes on...The S2K is a nice car I am replacing my intake valve retainers just for safety sake. But with your mileage and not using the car on track days then you are good as it sits. just watch the oil level.
