Trofeo R: 255/40ZR17 8.5-10" 9" 10.2" 9.2"

The difference is .3" in tread width for the common 255/40/17. Note the section width is the same when mounted on a 9" wheel.

Yeah I do to but I have found tire rack's measured section and tread width to be pretty inaccurate on many tires. The Trofeo R looks significantly wider than any other 255/40/17 tire I have seen on a 9" wheel. A friend has 265/18 Trofeo Rs on a E46 and they measure around 285.

Yeah, those are WAY wider than the RS-3s on my 9" wheels. Like, HILARIOUSLY wide.

I have always found it to be accurate. With that being said, their Trofeo R data is mostly incomplete which I find to be strange.

Proxes R1R: 255/40ZR17 8.5-10" 9" 10.3" 9.4"

I don't know how acurate tirerack is on the Trofeo's... I was running the R1R's and tire rack says they're .2" wider than the Trofeo's but just by looking at them there's no way that's possible. The Trofeo's look a lot wider than my R1R's.
